Gorgonzola Burgers for Memorial DayAngie McGowan
It’s Memorial Day and time to celebrate the unofficial start of summer. But more important than the celebration of all things summer and fun, it’s a time to remember those brave souls who have served our country and passed away while in service. At 3pm, in your local time zone, there is a National Moment of Remembrance when all Americans are asked “To voluntarily and informally observe in their own way a Moment of remembrance and respect, pausing from whatever they are doing for a moment of silence or listening to ‘Taps.” I also found this site, Honor The Fallen, very informative and eyeopening about the many soldiers who have recently died (as in as current as last week) in the line of service.
Okay let me wipe the tears away, and compose myself to share with you the easiest and most flavorful burger recipe ever. It’s only four ingredients, and two of the ingredients are salt and pepper. The other two are ground beef and gorgonzola cheese. It can’t get any easier than that. You can grill these outside, on an indoor grill, or cook in the skillet. I topped these with a simple combination of spicy deli mustard mixed with mayonnaise. Add some fries or chips, a crisp pickle, and dinner’s done.
