There are a couple things that have become very apparent to me recently – I always have chicken in the freezer and I absolutely must start using my slow cooker more. I think it hit me this school year that my kid’s are at ages that come with lots of activities – after school and sometimes in the evenings – and on those days, I just need to throw my white flag up in the air and realize that I can not start making dinner at 5 o’clock when practice doesn’t end until 6. And with 2 hungry kids and a hungry husband (and did I mention that yes, I’m usually hungry at that time too?) it is not a pretty sight come that time of night when I try to “whip” up some dinner. This is where my slow cooker is going to save me.
I’ve been on a hunt for slow cooker chicken recipes and have actually found some winners that I think my whole family will love. I made Very Culinary’s Crock Pot Honey Sesame Chicken (shown above) for Valentine’s Day (I know, so romantic) and my family gobbled it all up without a single complaint. It was delicious and is going to become a slow cooker staple in my house for sure.
