Got Snow? How to Turn a Snow Day Into Snow Ice Cream!Brooke McLay
School was cancelled in most of Colorado today, courtesy of a big blizzard that swooped in across the mountains and covered our state with blankets of snow. Days like these may throw a loop in the working mommy’s plans, but the kids find them magical and splendid…especially when ordered outside to mound clean snow into bowls and bring them inside for a session of Snow Cream making.
If you’ve never made Snow Cream, it’s a simple ice cream made with fresh fallen snow. So fun and easy, especially when you make it our shortcut way! If you’re buried under snow, turn your snow day into a day of magically delicious treat making. Your kids will thank you (and all that work you had to set aside in the meantime will find a way to wait for all the fun you’re having!)
Snappy Snow Cream
- 2-3 cups fresh snow
- Reddiwhip whipped cream
Place snow in a large bowl. Spray Reddiwhip over the snow and invite your kids to keep spraying and stirring until a creamy, icy snow cream is formed. Transfer to a bowl, top with sprinkles if desired, and enjoy!
