Have Your Favorite Dessert for Breakfast with Strawberry Shortcake Waffles!Kelsey Banfield
I recently was given a fantastic waffle maker by King Arthur Flour. It makes waffles in the shape of hearts! Needless to say, this has been a source of endless fascination for my daughter. Each morning I’ve been doctoring up our favorite homemade waffles mix to make different flavored waffles, as well as stacking them up with all kinds of different toppings. In this case I’d thawed some of the strawberries I’d frozen last summer and sliced them up to scatter on our waffles. I used one full strawberry per layer and then added in a touch of whipped cream before adding a second waffle. Before we knew it the Strawberry Shortcake Waffle Stack was born! We had some much fun eating these too, it was like having our favorite dessert for breakfast! These can be made with any kind of waffles, frozen from the store or homemade. (If you want to win your very own heart-shaped waffle maker from King Arthur Flour be sure to check out the contest that is running on my blog!)
