Holiday Entertaining: Cheese Stuffed Figs with Toasted Pecans and Balsamic Drizzle

I love an appetizer that comes together easily but has a little ‘wow’ factor like these cheese stuffed figs. The pairing of sweet figs with salty cheese and toasted nuts is amazing in itself, but the drizzle of balsamic glaze puts these over the top! A plate of these bite sized cheese stuffed figs on your table during the holidays will make your guests feel very special.

Enjoy this simple and elegant recipe for Cheese Stuffed Figs with Toasted Pecans and Balsamic Drizzle.

Cheese Stuffed Figs with Toasted Pecans and Balsamic Drizzle
Recipe from Aggie’s Kitchen

24 dried figs
1/4 1/3 cup crumbled Gorgonzola cheese
1/4 1/3 cup fresh grated asiago cheese
pinch fresh ground pepper
24 toasted pecans
Balsamic Glaze (I use this)

In small bowl combine combine Gorgonzola, asiago and fresh ground pepper. Using a small knife, make slit into side of dried figs (do not cut all the way through, but almost the entire length of fig). Using your hands, stuff fig with about 1/2 teaspoon of cheese mixture (more or less depending on size of fig). Top with toasted pecan and press down. Line up on plate and drizzle with balsamic glaze right before serving.
