Holiday Traditions: Christmas Pajamas, Red Bows & Gingerbread StarsKelsey Banfield
We have a few holiday traditions in our house that we are looking forward to this Christmas Eve. One of them has been inherited by my daughter from my own childhood and two of them are brand new. Our old tradition involves dressing up for the Christmas Eve. When I was little I somehow go it in my head that I had to wear red bows in my hair. I definitely gave that up by the time I was a teenager, but my daughter is way into the idea of wearing red bows in her hair the day before Santa arrives.
The second tradition is new and that is Christmas pajamas. My husband’s cousin runs a really cool custom monogramming side business and every year I order a new pair of monogrammed Christmas pj’s from her. I’ll do the same once the baby is born as well. She opens them at the beginning of the month and wears them most nights in December. Then, she is sure to wear them on Christmas Eve to show Santa just how excited she is for his arrival.
The third, and newest, tradition is setting out Pippa’s Gingerbread Stars for Santa, along with the carrots for the reindeer. My daughter is totally smitten with them! She is convinced Santa will like them as much as we do and I tend to agree!
