Holiday Traditions: Maxine's Sugar Cookies

By aggieskitchen |

My sister-in-law has been making these sugar cookies every year for Christmas for as long as I’ve known her which has been almost 12 years now. It is a family recipe that has pretty much been shared with all of us (she has 3 sisters, a sister-in-law and 5 children of her own) and one we will always have around. I love recipes like that, ones that live within the family and always bring warm memories of that person and times together each and every time a batch is baked up.

I made with these with my kids a couple of years ago when they were real young and they loved decorating them with the colored sugar crystals. They are perfect for Santa’s cookie plate, I can assure you that…he actually told me himself that they are one of his favorites (wink, wink…).

Share Maxine’s Sugar Cookies with Santa and the rest of your family this year. I guarantee smiles all around.
