Homemade Snow Caps for Christmas

I know the Sno Caps candies are spelled without a ‘w,’ but it looked weird writing it the other way. I have been doing some posts lately with Christmas treats that tie in to some holiday movie. Though I could not think of any specific movie that ties in with Sno Caps, that candy is such a standard movie concession, I thought it would be fun to give these little homemade nonpareils as gifts along with movie tickets, or a movie theater gift card.

Also, I love just to be home with my kids to watch movies. Who needs to go out? And really, who needs to give these away? They’re so cute, they may not ever make it into a gift box. So stick a DVD in the player, pop some popcorn, and have some of your very own, easy-to-make Sno Caps, all dressed up for the holidays.

These also make a perfect, homemade gift for the teacher, and they’re perfect for little helping hands.

Homemade Snow Caps

1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
4 white chocolate baking squares (these melt better than the chips)
nonpareils in Christmas colors

In separate microwave safe bowls, heat the chocolate for 30 second intervals, stirring well after each interval, until the chocolate is melted and smooth. Spoon by teaspoonfuls onto parchment paper or wax paper. Sprinkle with nonpareils. Allow to firm up on the counter until set.
