How to Choose Cherry Tomatoes

I think I get more excited about the little yellow cherry tomatoes than I do about the exotic heirlooms turning up at my farmer’s market these days. I buy them by the bushelful –the trick is to buy the tiniest ones you can find…those will always be the sweetest — knowing full well that they will be gone in 24 hours no matter what. I wash them when I get home and keep them on a bowl on the counter and my daughters pop them in their mouths like pretzels all day long. Or I just pop them on the plate next to whatever they are eating for breakfast or lunch and know that I won’t have to utter the phrase “not until you eat your vegetables.” Oh happy day.
