How to Eat a Pear

It’s harvest season, which means pears are at their peak – plump Anjou, juicy Bartlett, stout Comice, wee Seckel and elegant Bosc pears are overflowing their farmers’ market bins. They look lovely simply set out as a centrepiece, scenting the air with their sweet perfume. Pears have delicate skins and ripen quickly once you take them home – if you find yourself with too many to eat out of hand (they can be too soft to transport in school lunch bags) here are some delicious ways to enjoy them for breakfast, lunch, dinner – and dessert.
