This zebra-striped cake is easy to pull off for an animal- or zoo-themed birthday party or even just a black-and-white party. Unassuming on the outside, the slices reveal pretty stripes running through the entire cake. It’s a new take on the “marbled” cakes of your childhood (or is that just my childhood?).
Let me show you just how ridiculously easy it is to pull this off. [Click through for a basic tutorial.]
Prepare two different cake batters. One vanilla and one chocolate (or come up with a crazy color combination all your own). Making stripes is easier than you think. First, find either a 1/4 cup measuring cup or a large cookie scoop (3 tablespoons). Place a scoop of one batter in the center of the prepared cake pan. Place a scoop of your alternating color directly in the center of that one.
For the cake, you’ll need:
1 recipe chocolate cake batter
1 recipe vanilla cake batter
1 recipe chocolate frosting
