Easter is right around the corner, and it’s time to get your eggs ready to be decorated. But how do you make that perfectly cooked hard boiled egg? You’ll want to avoid over-cooking and under-cooking them. That can be hard, but I have experimented over the years with many different cooking methods, and have finally found a foolproof way to make a hard boiled eggs that comes out perfect every single time.
You will also want to prevent the egg shells from cracking, since the shells need to be perfect for dying. Your first step will be to:
1. Put the eggs in a saucepan and cover with cold water.
2. Add 1 teaspoon of salt
3. Bring to a boil over high heat.
4. Right when it boils, turn the heat off and cover the pan with a lid
5. Wait 15 minutes.
6. After 15 minutes has passed, drain the hot water and cover in ice water to cool the eggs and stop the cooking process.
That’s it! After the eggs have cooled, you are ready to dye them your favorite Easter colors.
