Fall is just around the corner and that means so is soup season. I know a lot of us enjoy soup all year round, but there’s something about when we hit the time of year that the temperatures start to drop and the days start to get shorter that really makes a comforting bowl of soup even more appealing.
I know there are many ways to start off a good pot of soup…bouillon, soup bases, store bought stock…it all depends on what you are accustomed to and of course what you have on hand. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a stash of homemade chicken stock waiting on you in the freezer next time you had the itch to start a pot of soup? I stumbled onto this post that Rachel of Baked by Rachel wrote on how to make your very own batch of homemade chicken stock…in the slow cooker. I thought that it was such a great idea to use the slow cooker and couldn’t wait to share it with others that may be hesitant in making their own chicken stock at home, like myself.
