As you are no doubt aware, March 1 is National Pancake Day and to celebrate IHOP will be giving away free pancakes. If you are still sitting on the fence about whether or not you’d like free pancakes, it may interest you to know that the event will help the Children’s Miracle Network. This probably leaves you with two questions- How does giving away free pancakes help the Children’s Miracle Network? And what’s the Children’s Miracle Network?
It may seem counter-intuitive that giving away pancakes for free would raise money. But IHOP asks that in lieu of payment, you make a donation to the Children’s Miracle Network. Last year, the event raised $2.1 million dollars. This year’s goal is a slightly more ambitious $2.3 million dollars. And that $2.3 million will be well-spent. The Children’s Miracle Network raises funds that are then passed directly on to children’s hospitals across the country where they pay for everything from training to research to care. So, if you’re able, visit your local IHOP on March 1, otherwise you can donate directly to the Children’s Miracle Net work here.
