Call it Cranberry Sauce or Cranberry Relish but Just Make it - Pear Cranberry Sauce

My brother in-law is a huge Cranberry Sauce fan. You can call it Cranberry Sauce, Cranberry Relish or even make Orange-Cranberry sauce as long as you make one.

This year, I decided to turn the classic cranberry sauce into something spectacular with the addition of pears and ginger turn a classic side into something spectacular…

Pear Cranberry Sauce (Yield: 3 cups)
1 package (12 ounces) fresh or frozen cranberries
2 medium pears, peeled and cubed
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup water
1 to 2 teaspoons minced fresh gingerroot
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon salt

In a large saucepan, combine all ingredients and cook over medium heat about 15 minutes, until the cranberries pop.  Transfer to a small bowl and refrigerate until chilled.
