Melon and Banana Breakfast Smoothie

By bellalimento |

Smoothies are a simple, healthy and fast breakfast option. My kids love making smoothies and choosing their own flavor combinations. One of their favorite flavors {besides STRAWBERRY & NUTELLA} is Melon and Banana. Melons and banana go together swimmingly. I like to wait until my fruits are super ripe before turning them into smoothies so we don’t have to add much sweetener at all. If your fruits aren’t quite as sweet, you might need to add a tad more sweetener. You could also substitute agave nectar instead of the honey if you liked.

Melon and Banana Breakfast Smoothie
What you’ll need:
1 small melon {or approximately 1 cup of pureed melon} – seeds removed
1 ripe banana
1/2 teaspoon honey

What to do:
1. Place banana into freezer to chill. WHILE banana is chilling. Scoop out melon flesh and transfer to blender or food processor.

2. Remove banana from freezer. Discard peel. Add banana and honey to blender. Pulse to combine until you  have a smooth consistency.

3. Pour into glass. Serve immediately.
