cinna-bun-pancakes!

These Mini Pancake Cinnamon Rolls with a Cinna-Maple Drizzle are a fun new way to enjoy a “pancake” breakfast – make them into kid-approved Cinnamon Rolls! I had a memory of being a kid and loving to roll up my pancakes and stick them on my fork. They looked like lovely pancake roses or silly snail spirals. Wee, this is a fun recipe that kids can assemble all by themselves once mom or dad set-up the proper food tools. Pancakes have never been so silly-licious! Get my recipe and step-by-step “how-to” slide show! Have a fun yummy weekend morning..

Fruit Kabobs too! This recipe is fun when paired with fruit kabobs. For the kabobs, you basically need to slice up chunks of colorful fruit and toss them in lemon or lime juice. Kids that are big enough to handle a wooden toothpick or skewer can make their own fruit kabobs – and even dip the fruit in some of the leftover Cinna-Maple Drizzle!

What you’ll need (I used vegan ingredients – but you can use either version:

a stack of thin pancakes – you’ll make about 4 mini buns per pancake
Drizzle:
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 cup vegan sour cream OR cream cheese (or a mix of both)
1/2 cup vegan butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar
(fruit kabobs on the side- optional)

To make “Cinnamon Buns” – see slide show below!..

Do you have a recipe for the pancakes you used here?

  2. Tres Delicious says:

My kids don’t like the usual pancake, at least now, thanks to you they are going to enjoy them. The mini rolls look delicious. Great photos

  3. Lindsey @ Why Just Eat says:

What a great idea! My daughter loves cinnamon rolls, but I hate sending her to school on just sugar for breakfast. This version has a lot less sugar! Awesome :)

  4. Avi D says:

Delicious, adorable, and indulgent — but not too much :) Thank you for sharing!

If I may ask, where did you buy the golden spoon with the treble clef? I am a graduate music student and would love to purchase a set!

I like the idea. Might have to try those some time. By the way, something must be up with your slide show. Every click on the right arrow makes the page scroll up or down. It’s kind of annoying.

I made these this morning for breakfast, and my family is new to vegan. I gotta say….. They were FANTASTIC! I actually caught myself licking the plate! Thank you for these!
