Miss America 2011: Foods fit for a Queen

The Miss America Pageant, now in it’s 90th year, will be airing tonight at 9pm EST. The pageant, which was all the rage when I was a little girl, has lost some of it’s luster over the years. I remember watching as a little girl with so much excitement, but now it seems so trivial. The pageant will be hosted by Chris Harrison and Brooke Burk. Brooke is a beauty and mom of not 1 but 4 kids and six pets. She’s an amazing woman who has alot on her plate. Here I have complied a list of some of our favorite low fat foods at the Family Kitchen that would be fit for the winner of tonight’s pageant.

Preparing for the pageant, all of the girls have had to really watch their diets, eating almost like birds and exercising many hours to keep their figures. After the pageant is over tonight, the girls who didn’t make the cut may want to self loathe in some fast food, but for the winner, no such indulgences will be allowed. The lucky girl, who will be crowned Miss America tonight won’t be able to celebrate with her favorite comfort foods, she’ll only be able eat low fat, healthy dishes since she’ll be be representing the pageant all year.

To the future Miss America, we wish you an early congratulations, and I hope you will be able to enjoy one of these delicious low fat dishes, guaranteed not to go straight to your hips.
