When it comes to mac and cheese, there are as many varieties as there are flavors of cheese in Switzerland. But this one is the best, simplest, creamiest version I’ve ever found. It takes a matter of minutes to stir together the ingredients, and just about an hour to bake it all into mac and cheese perfection. And really, it is per.fect. Enjoy.
- 2 cups macaroni, uncooked
- 2 cups half and half
- 2 cups sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
- 1 cup ham, diced
- 1 (10 3/4) can cream of mushroom
- 1/4 onion, finely chopped
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Combine all ingredients in a casserole dish. Bake one hour, uncovered, stirring once during baking.
