What comes to mind when you think of Lemonade? Perhaps a hot sunny day with friends? A childhood lemonade stand? All types of nostalgic memories pop into my head and make me smile. So why not choose today to enjoy a fresh glass of Lemonade or set up a stand with your kids on National Lemonade Day?
In fact, I found some great tips from Parenting.com about setting up a lemonade stand and teaching your children about helping the community….
1. Choose a Charity: Set up a stand to sell lemonade but instead of keeping the profits, choose a charity to donate to. You can also advertise this at your stand and I bet folks will drop in a few extra coins.
2. Think Drink: To make your lemonade, heat a cup of sugar and water in a saucepan until the sugar has dissolved then add to a pitcher with a cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Dilute with 3 to 4 cups of cold water (to taste) and chill.
3. Take a Stand: Set the stand up near a corner that has plenty of foot and automotive traffic (but plenty of room for you to be safely out of the way)
4. Make Treats: Bring along some cupcakes, cookies or popcorn to help increase your profits.
