Did you know that the beloved Grilled Cheese sandwich has an entire month dedicated to it? That’s right, April is National Grilled Cheese Month. Don’t be fooled even though it’s April 1s, and it’s April Fools’ Day, this is no joke.
I’m not sure who dubbed this month but I for one am happy they did. Grilled Cheese Sandwiches can be jazzy up or paired down. The combinations of cheeses are mind boggling. Anyway you slice them they’re delicious.
We’re starting off the month long celebration with one of my favorite Grilled Cheese sandwiches. It’s called Mozzarella in Carrozza. It’s an Italian panino. They’re perfect for lunch or a quick snack in between meals. It’s no ordinary grilled cheese. It’s one of the jazzed up versions. It’s oozing with fresh mozzarella, a layer of bechamel and prosciutto is in there too, but the kicker is in the preparation ; )
