I recently took on the challenge of coming up with a healthy breakfast menu that featured Nutella. If the words Nutella and healthy appearing in the same sentence seems strange to you, I can understand. I myself have always considered Nutella to be one of my guilty pleasures, and something I include in decadent gooey desserts. But I hosted a Nutella Breakfast party last week, serving up a buffet of healthy breakfast dishes that all contained Nutella as one of the key ingredients. Our special guest was Connie Evers, Nutella’s spokesperson, and an expert in children’s nutrition and nutrition education. I held my breath as she tasted my food and asked me questions . . . and was relieved when she gave them a healthy grade and enjoyed them to boot! Strawberry Nutella Puff Tart, Nutella Yogurt Fruit Dip, Nutella Bran Muffins, Nutella Fruit & Nut Bars . . . all breakfast options that are filled with whole grains, vitamins and nutrients, and yes, Nutella! If you want to read more about these dishes and hear what Connie says about breakfast, see my post about my Nutella Breakfast Party!
