Nutella Pizza – Almond, Flax and White Chocolate

We all know that one of the universally loved foods is Nutella. In case you are not aware of it, Nutella is a hazelnut spread made with skim milk and a hint of cocoa. I first made this recipe to enter into a Nutella challenge and wanted to make something that was fun and that the kids could help me create.

I also wanted something that the kids would grab for but not notice if there were other healthy ingredients such as almonds on top and a whole wheat crust as a base. I also mixed in some ground flax seed as I knew it would go undetected. The delicious recipe includes….

1 whole wheat pizza shell
5 tablespoons Nutella spread
1 tablespoon ground flax seed
1/4 cup toasted sliced almonds, gently crushed
1/3 cup organic white chocolate morsels

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Spread Nutella over most of the pizza, leaving a 1/2 inch of the crust uncovered. Then evenly distribute the flax seeds, almonds, and white chocolate on top. Place the pizza on a middle oven rack and bake for 8 minutes.  Allow to cool slightly and cut into slices using a quality pizza cutter.
