So here is the story: school is starting soon and we need to get back into a breakfast routine. Summer has been awesome since most of our mornings we’ve easily poured cereal and lazed around a bit before starting the day. One of our favorite morning breakfasts is waffles. My daughter adores a hot crispy waffle right off the press. I like them because I can easily make the batter ahead of time and just pour it onto the waffle maker in the morning. I recently gave our waffles the addition of some delicious nutella spots and they were AMAZING! It is added decadence to be sure, but why not treat yourself as the school year begins?!
Nutella Swirl Waffles
1 batch homemade waffle mix
4 tablespoons Nutella
1. Mix the waffle batter according to directions and pour onto the hot waffle iron. Then add a dollop – about a 1/2 teaspoon – of nutella to several parts of the waffle and then close the waffle maker. Cook the waffle according to the waffle maker directions. Then remove the waffle, drizzle with maple syrup and enjoy!
