This season’s NYC Restaurant Week is the largest in the program’s history – and it’s on right now. Until February 6, there are great deals to be had at restaurants in every borough; on offer: three-course prix-fixe lunches for $24.07 and three-course prix-fixe dinners for $35. (Saturdays excluded; Sundays optional. Beverages, gratuities and taxes are not included.) NYC Restaurant Week debuted in 1992 when it was developed as a one-time culinary event to welcome the Democratic National Convention – the event earned a strong following among residents who were excited at the opportunity to dine at some of New York’s top restaurants for a fraction of the usual cost—and so NYC Restaurant Week became a recurring event.
There are more than 35 new additions to this season’s NYC Restaurant Week offerings, including L’Ecole, the restaurant of The French Culinary Institute; Faustina at the Cooper Square Hotel; Riverpark: a Tom Colicchio Restaurant; Tamarind Tribeca; and The Strand Restaurant at The Strand Hotel. Returning are established favorites 21′ Club; David Burke Townhouse; Dos Caminos (pictured); Le Cirque; One if by Land, Two if by Sea; The Russian Tea Room; SD26; and Tribeca Grill. You can check out the full list of participating restaurants, as well as the menus they’ll be serving, at NYCGo.com.
