Kathy Strah's Football Cocoa Krispie Treats

By Kelsey Banfield |

Cocoa Krispie Footballs

If it were Friday night in the fall of my sophomore year of high school, I would be perched precariously on the stadium rails in front of the football fans, shivering in my polyester maroon and white uniform and cheering on our team. Well, I was cheering on a team. Sometimes it wasn’t ours – I would mix up offense and defense quite often. It might have helped if I’d worn my glasses, but seeing the crowd as a blur helped to ease my “stage fright”.

I wish I could say that I’m more attentive during football games today, but it’s not really true. However I’m very much a fan of the food culture surrounding football. I’m all for tailgates and wings and chili and guacamole and beer. That’s all great stuff. I’m more than happy to come over to watch the Super Bowl if football snacks are involved – I’ll even bring these fun little Cocoa Rice Krispies Football Treats. Just don’t ask me who made that last play.
