We’ve been enjoying every second of these last days of summer. I’m cherishing these long summer days with both of my girls. And to add a little something sweet to our fun-filled days, we’ve been making batches of thick, frosty smoothies, brimming with fresh summer fruits.
This batch used the flavors of the season perfectly, and blueberries and peaches were a wonderful combination. The frozen bananas lent an icy sweetness and creamy texture, while the yogurt gave everything a little tang.
Our basic recipe is below, but feel free to make it your own by adding your favorite berries and stone fruits, or just whatever you have on hand.
Peach Blueberry Smoothies
1 cup blueberries
1 cup peaches
2 frozen bananas
2 cups yogurt
water or ice, as needed
Add all of the ingredients to your blender and pulse to combine. If the mixture is too thick, you may want to add a bit of water. If it’s not quite frosty enough, add a handful of ice cubes and blend until smooth.
Pour into frosty glasses, and garnish with a few slices of fresh peach.
