Peanut and Tree-Nut Free Halloween Candy

By Ole & Shaina Olmanson |

Having a child with a life-threatening allergy can be terrifying, and it can make holidays that are largely focused on forbidden treats, like Halloween, even harder on kids that often sense they’re different in the first place.

If you’re the parent of a child with a peanut or tree nut allergy, consider swapping out their bag of candy for a bag of “safe” candy or making sure they know to let you sort it before digging in. (Tips via goodLife {eats}, who has a child with a peanut allergy. Thanks, Katie!)

Here are a few peanut and tree-nut free Halloween candies as listed on the Bay Area Allergy Advisory Board:

Haribo Gummi Candy

Not just the Gold-Bears, but ALL of it. :) I know a few Haribo fanatics who would be at a loss without their gummis.

After all that candy, you may need to detox. I know I do. Check out this post-Halloween menu and fun Zojirushi giveaway!
