Peppermint Candy Cane Cake in a JarKelsey Banfield
You guessed it – it is time for holiday cakes in a jar! To make this fun one I whipped up a white cake and added a drop of peppermint extract. Then I divided the batter in two, dyed one of them red and layered it in a jar. They turned out to be so much to have as a treat after Thanksgiving. They put us right in the mood for the holiday season. I think I might try this in mini-jam jars next and serve them at a party!
Candy Cane Cake in a Jar
1 box white or yellow cake mix
2 drops peppermint extract
Red food paste
1. Preheat the oven to 350F.
2. Prepare the cake mix according to directions and stir in the peppermint extract. Divide the batter into two bowls and dye one red with the food paste. Layer the cake in three layers. Place the jars on a cookie sheet and bake for 30 minutes, or until bake through and a cake tester comes out clean.
