We are in full holiday mode now and I am planning out what we will serve our friends and family when they join us for Christmas. One thing I am planning to make are these awesome cinnamon rolls. I made them with my daughter and we dress them up with fun Christmas decorations to make them really cute and festive. The dough is pretty much perfection as it is, but I did gave half of the batter and adult flavor by stirring some instant espresso into the glaze. It gave them a sweet coffee taste and welcome caffeine boost. For my daughter we just kept them as they were and decorated them to the hilt. It was so much fun, I can’t wait to do this again on Christmas day!
Pillsbury Christmasy Espresso Cinnamon Rolls
1 tube Pillsbury Cinnabon Cinnamon Rolls
2 teaspoons instant espresso powder dissolved in 1 teaspoon hot water
1. Bake the rolls according to package directions.
2. While the rolls are baking, mix the dissolved espresso powder with the icing in a small bowl. Once the rolls have cooled spread the icing over the rolls.
3. For a Christmasy tint: blend the icing with a drop of red or green food paste in a small bowl and spread the icing over the cooled rolls. Sprinkle Christmas decorations over the icing.
