Pizza: A classic that you CAN make at home

Gluten Free Pizza Margherita

With yesterday being Pi Day {and I hope you celebrated, did you see my selection of savory pies?} I still have pie on the brain…today though it’s Pizza Pie ; ) We make pizza quite frequently in our house. It just takes a few minutes of mixing a handful of simple ingredients in your stand mixer then it spends a few minutes quality time with the dough hook and then you let it rest and rise. It couldn’t be easier.

My pizza dough recipe makes 2 medium sized pizzas for pennies on what you would spend at your local pizzeria or the frozen food department at your grocers. You can top your pizza with just about anything your heart desires. It’s an incredibly fun way to get the kids into the kitchen when it’s time to roll out the dough and sprinkle it with toppings. You can even make smaller personal size pizzas.

Our favorite pizza to make is a classic Neapolitan pizza. The iconic Pizza Margherita. Made by topping your rolled out pizza dough with a quick and simple tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil and the freshest tomatoes. Semplicamente Delizoso!

If you have a pizza stone and pizza peel it will make whipping up a pizza much easier. Or you can always consider grilling your pizza {yes, grilled pizza is amazing}
