Poison Apple PastriesKelsey Banfield
You know what I love about Snow White? The poison apples. It seems so cruel that a delicious fruit is all of a sudden so undesirable – it is a great plot twist. Of course, in real life we eat all the apples we want. In fact, I have fun trying to see all the different things I can make with apples. For example, these awesome simple apple pastries! They barely take any time to make, are not poisonous at all, and are perfect for Sunday breakfast.
Simple Apple Pastries
1 sheet of puff pastry
6 green apples (or apples of your choice) cored and thinly sliced
Juice of 1 lemon
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Raw sugar for topping
1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
2. Toss the apple slices with the lemon juice and cinnamon in a large bowl.
3. Slice the puff pastry into 6 even sized pieces. Arrange the apple slices in a flower like pattern on top of each pastry slice. Sprinkle the top with a pinch of raw sugar.
4. Bake the pastry for 15 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
