Red, White & Blue Jello Stars

By bellalimento |

How about a patriotic dessert for your Memorial Day {or even 4th of July} celebrations? These red, white, and blue Jello stars will be adored by both the young and young at heart. And yes you’ll probably have that song “see it wiggle, see it jiggle” in your head while you’re making them ; ) If you get them started early in the day, they’ll be ready in plenty of time for your celebration. You’ll want to be sure that each layer is set up before pouring the next layer, otherwise you’ll end up with a tie dyed looking dessert.

Red, White & Blue Jello Stars

What you’ll need:
2 – 3 ounce boxes of berry blue flavored Jello
2 – 3 ounce boxes of cherry flavored Jello
1 – 1 ounce box of Knox gelatine {4 envelopes}
14 ounces sweetened condensed milk

What to do:
1. Spray a 9 x 13 dish with cooking spray. Set aside.

2. To make 1st layer: into a large bowl pour: berry blue Jello mixes, 1 envelope of Knox gelatine, and 2 cups of HOT water. Mix to combine. CAREFULLY pour mixture into dish. Place dish into refrigerator until set. Approximately 20-30 minutes.

3. To make 2nd layer: into a large bowl pour: 2 envelopes of gelatine, 3/4 cup HOT water, 1/4 cup COLD water. Mix to combine. Into a separate bowl add: sweetened condensed milk and 1 cup HOT water. Mix to combine. CAREFULLY pour milk mixture into gelatine mixture. Mix to combine. SLOWLY pour white layer on top of BLUE layer. Return to refrigerator to set up. Approximately 20-30 minutes.

4. To make 3rd layer: into a large bowl pour: cherry Jello mixes, 1 envelope of Knox gelatine, and 2 cups of HOT water. Mix to combine. CAREFULLY pour mixture into dish. Place dish into refrigerator until set. Approximately 20-30 minutes.

5. Once final layer is set, use a star cookie cutter to cut into stars {or if you prefer simply cut into squares}.
