Roasted Spiced Pistachios: The Perfect Salty Snack

Spiced PistachiosI’ve always found pistachios to be absurdly addictive. Once I start eating them I have to tear myself away from the bowl or have someone hide it from me. Just imagine my problem when I came across this recipe. Roasted, salted pistachios are spiced up with some sweet heat and roasted for a second time. It gives the them a salty, sweet taste that takes them from fantastic to totally beyond delicious. In order to save my waistline I restrict myself to only making these for parties or to give away as gifts. This is the only way to guarantee that I won’t eat the whole bowl myself. The next time I am planning to make these is to take to a friend hosting a St. Patrick’s Day party. The green pistachios will be festive and fun, and the perfect gift to give away!

Roasted Spiced Pistaschios

adapted from Southern Living

8 cups roasted, salted pistachios

3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

1/4 cup Worchestershire sauce

1 teaspoon chile powder

3/4 teaspoon garlic powder

3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1. Stir together the melted butter, Worchestershire sauce, and spices in a large mixing bowl. Add the pistachios and stir until everything is well coasted.

2. Preheat the oven to 350ºF. Spread the coated nuts on a lined cookie sheet and roast for 20 minutes, turning once at 10 minutes.

    Made this recipe as part of my Christmas foodie boxes this year! The flavor that this simple recipe adds to the pistachios is delicious and my hubby and I will definitely be making this recipe a lot, especially when we have our special weekly snack nights!
