This summer has been crazy! With two kids, summer camp, and a busy freelance schedule, we are constantly pressed for time. Everything seems to be fast forwarding at an ever-increasing pace. So I was kind of shocked to realize that blueberry season is almost over. I’m just not ready to part with my beloved blueberries, so my solution is simple–I’m going to freeze as many as I can get my hands on.
The method for perfect frozen blueberries is simple–just carefully sort, wash, and dry them. Cover a rimmed cookie sheet in wax or parchment paper, spread the berries out evenly, freeze for 3 hours, and then pop them in a Hefty slider bag. I like to also add a label to my frozen berry stash so I know what I’ve got later in the year. And that’s it–an easy way to store the best of the season for a chilly winter day.
