Remember ‘bugs on a log’? To me it’s the quintessential kids’ snack celery sticks topped with peanut butter and raisins. Even though I hated celery as a kid, I still loved this snack because, let’s face it, you can always just scrape the good stuff out of the celery and be perfectly satisfied!
In our family, we like the “bugs” okay, but we’re actually really big fans of ladybugs, also known as dried cranberries! My kids don’t mind raisins as a snack, but they absolutely devour dried cranberries. I tend to substitute them in all kinds of recipes that actually call for raisins. ‘Bugs on a log’ is no exception!
‘Ladybugs on a log’ is a tasty and healthy snack for my kids, and, honestly, I’m not even that stressed when they don’t eat all the celery. Plus, I love how easy it is to prepare! The best part, though, is that my girls always look at the snack and say in super sweet voices, “Oh, they’re so cute!”
