Simple Cherry Sauce with Vanilla Ice CreamKelsey Banfield
When it comes to simple fruit desserts, I love to make fruit into sauces. For example, some stewed apples or softened peaches over vanilla ice cream is heavenly. Since the cherries are arriving in stores like crazy right now, I decided to make some awesome cherry sauce. It was the simplest thing to make and was even easier to eat. It was such a nice cool, fruity dessert for hot summer night.
1 cup pitted and sliced cherries
1 teaspoon granulated sugar
1 tablespoon orange juice
Vanilla ice cream
Add the cherries, sugar, and orange juice to a small saucepan and saute over medium-low heat and stir until soft. Serve immediately over ice cream.
