We’re continuing on our NATURALLY green theme this week and making a super simple side dish that goes well with just about any meat or fish, sauteed Brussels sprouts. The hardest part (which isn’t even all that difficult, it just takes a little time) is trimming the sprouts. Once that portion is done, about 10 minutes in the pan is all you need before you transfer these green beauties to the table. We’ve added a little kick with the addition of red pepper flakes; if you’re not a fan, simply leave them out.
Sauteed Brussels Sprouts
What you’ll need:
3 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves garlic – minced
1 pound brussels sprouts – trimmed
pinch red pepper flakes
What to do:
1. Place a medium saute pan with olive oil and garlic on low heat.
2. Remove leaves from Brussels (as far as you can go). Add Brussels sprouts and red pepper flakes to pan. Season with salt/pepper. Stir until all Brussels sprouts are coated with oil. Cook for approximately 5 minutes OR until Brussels are softened.
