This frosty Skinny Egg Nog Shake is not what it seems at all.. But luckily, it tastes amazing! So you will not miss all the usual “egg nog-y” ingredients anyways. This smoothie makes a delicious drink to fill you up and keep you from gobbling down too many Christmas cookies. but with all the delish “egg nog” flavor you will not feel like you are missing out on any holiday fun.
Two bananas, loaded with fiber, will help fill you up and energize you. The bananas blend into a creamy, frosty, shake-like texture worth craving.
So turn up the fireplace flames or heater and put on a cozy holiday sweater as you sip your way to nog-land.
Skinny Egg Nog Smoothie
vegan, serves 1-2
2 bananas, frozen
1 cup soy or coconut nog (non-dairy egg nog)
boost the nog flavor by adding: 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/8 tsp ginger powder, 1/8 tsp nutmeg
1/4 cup ice
Optional flavor boosts:
orange twist: add a pinch of orange zest for a hint of orange flavor
vanilla-infused: 1/8 tsp vanilla extract or use a real vanilla bean
cocoa-boost: add a scoop of unsweetened cocoa powder for a chocolate nog shake
optional protein boost: 1 scoop your favorite vanilla-flavored protein powder
adults-only: add 1 shot of brandy for a party-themed shake
top with: swirl of rice or soy whipped cream + pinch of cinnamon
Directions: Blend and serve! Adjust liquid to make a thinner or thicker shake.
