Spice It Up! 24 Inventive Ways to Use Candied Ginger

And so my candied ginger journey concludes. I’ve made my own, and even shared what to do with the leftover syrup (ginger ale!).

Now it’s time to get baking — and cooking!

I’ve rounded up 24 delicious recipes highlighting candied ginger. And I love each and every one. As I’ve gotten more (ahem) “mature,” I find that my taste in sweets tends more toward the subtle, as opposed to cloying. I’m more appreciative of a cookie — or slice of cake — that doesn’t hit me all at once with a rush of sugar. The “kick” of fresh ginger tempers that sweetness perfectly.

Even better — you’ll love the look on your guests’ faces as they experience the unexpected mild heat that ginger imparts (see if they can guess what the ingredient is!). I’ve had guests seek me out – half-eaten cookie in hand — saying, “Okay — what is in these??”

Better still? It’s pretty! Whether in thin strips or tiny chunks, candied ginger lends a quiet “sparkle” to your dishes — whether you sprinkle it on top or fold it within.
