Sriracha Salt for Father's Day

mackicayloma mackicayloma |

I was over at a friend’s house the other day, and I saw a container of colored salt on her counter. I thought it was that fancy pink Himalayan salt, but I soon found out it was much more special. This salt was Sriracha flavored salt that she made for her spicy salt-loving husband. Oooo, this will make a great Father’s Day gift, especially for my spicy salt-loving dad who either asks for motorcycle parts or ingredients for his home brew. Then she told me it took 1-2 days for it to dry. With two young kids around the house that’s not an option, so I figured out a way to speed up the process…

Just two ingredients, mix and bake.

Sriracha Salt Recipe

1/2 cup coarse kosher salt

5 teaspoons Sriracha

Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Mix the salt and Sriracha until evenly coated. Pour salt onto parchment lined baking sheet and place in the oven for 2 hours, stirring occasionally and checking for dryness. Remove when dry and pour into clean, dry mason jar or salt shaker.

To go along with this, I also bought him the Sriracha Cookbook. So fun!
