Today, Starbucks announced that they will be unveiling a new coffee size–the Trenta. As you may have inferred from the name, this coffee cup weighs in at a whopping 31 oz! That’s not quite Big Gulp size, but it seems we’re getting there. People, that’s a lot of coffee. In fact, it’s actually bigger than the average capacity of the human stomach!
Has America’s love of caffeine gone too far? Or is this just another Big Gulp-type invention? Caffeine can be beneficial for many reasons, but is 31 oz. too much? Will the new super-sized iced coffee effect our health?
No matter what your take, you can have your chance at 31 oz. of coffee on…May 3rd. Until then, we are left with several questions. How much coffee, even iced, can one person drink? Will US car beverage holders have to be redesigned? If “trenta” means “thirty,” why is it thirty-one ounces? Will we all be slightly stronger from lifting enormous cups? Will we we need more bathrooms?
What about you? Are you pro-Trenta? We’d love to hear what you think!
