Strawberry Grapefruit Smoothie: A Refreshing Treat

Smoothies are a great weekend treat in our house, and we love to play with all the endless flavor combinations. This strawberry grapefruit smoothie is bright and refreshing with slightly sweet notes and fantastic fresh citrus flavor. Gone in minutes, it was a big hit with everyone on our family.

I have added 1/4 cup honey to the recipe in case you’d like to up the sweetness a bit, though I quite like this smoothie as is. As with any smoothie, improvisation is key, so feel free to swap and switch ingredients at your pleasure.

Strawberry Grapefruit Smoothie
serves 4

2 cups ice
2 cups frozen strawberries
2 frozen (or fresh) bananas
2 cup fresh squeezed grapefruit or orange juice
2 cups yogurt
1/4 cup honey (optional)

Combine the ingredients in your blender and pulse until the smoothie is pureed. Serve immediately with a wedge of grapefruit or orange, and a strawberry.
