Super Cute Red & Pink Valentine’s Cake in a Jar

Cake in a Jar

Now that we are firmly on the dessert in jars trend I am making them for most holidays. For Valentine’s Day I, naturally, made them in red and pink with a dollop of frosting and sprinkles. How could we not love them! My daughter certainly couldn’t get enough of it. I could totally see serving these at a cute kids Valentine’s Day party or even for a winter birthday party!

Super Cute Valentine’s Cake in a Jar

1 box white cake mix

Red food paste

1 jar vanilla buttercream frosting

1. Mix the white cake mix according to package directions. Add a few drops of red food paste so that the batter turns a light pink. Pour half it in 9×9 baking pan that has been sprayed with nonstick spray. Add a few more drops of red food paste into the batter to turn it red. Pour the rest into a second 9×9 baking pan. Bake according to package directions.

2. Once the cakes have cooled cut out the cake in circles or large chunks and place them in jars, alternation pink and red cake. Dollop some delicious frosting on top and scatter some sprinkles on top.
