Doesn’t bacon make everything better. I certainly think so. I like it every which way and up, but one of my favorite ways to make it sweet and spicy. Or sweet heat as I like to call it. I took a girls trip to Asheville a few years back and we stayed at an awesome bed and breakfast and one morning they served this glorious baked sweet and spicy bacon. I could literally smell it wafting all the way up to the top floor.
Needless to say, I ate my weight ehem fair share that morning and as soon as I got home I worked until I got the recipe just as I had remembered.
It can be easily doubled and if you’re feeling really adventurous you can also try it COATED IN NUTELLA ; ) Trust me, it sounds cray-zay but the first bite will have you convinced it’s a keeper!

Sweet and Spicy Bacon
What you’ll need:
1 tablespoon light brown sugar
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon black pepper
6 pieces – thick sliced bacon
What to do:
1.Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Into a small bowl mix: sugar, chili powder and black pepper. Set aside.
2. Spray a rimmed baking sheet with cooking spray. Arrange bacon sliced onto baking sheet making sure slices do not overlap. Bake for approximately 8 minutes. CAREFULLY flip bacon slices and sprinkle sugar/pepper mixture onto slices. Return to oven and bake for an additional 8 minutes.
3. Transfer bacon slices to a cooling rack and allow to cool completely.
