Sweet Potatoes with Marshmallows, Corn Bread, Stuffing and More T-day Treats!

sweet-potato casserole with marshmallowsSweet potato casserole with marshmallows, corn bread, stuffing, green beans, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce are just some of the side dishes that make Thanksgiving so special. Here at The Family Kitchen we live for the holidays.

But just because we live for food doesn’t mean we always have the time to make fancy feasts — we are raising kids, after all. So, we turn to our families for help and to friends for tips. As Angie wrote the other day about her sweet potatoes (pictured left): “I love sweet potato casserole, but making it from scratch takes a lot of time. My mom use to take a short cut and use the canned sweet potatoes, yet giving me another reason to dislike casseroles.” Since Angie wasn’t all about the casserole anyway, she made a variation of the classic Thanksgiving dish — baked sweet potatoes with marshmallows and pecans.

Whether you’re looking for the perfect mashed potato recipe, or a quick green bean casserole trick, or a spin on sweet potato casserole, we’ve got you covered. Recipes after the jump…
