Tangerine Lime Bars: The Grown-Up Treat Kids Will Love

Winter marks the peak of citrus season here on the east coast. For the occasion I made these sophisticated, silky tangerine lime bars. Taking a somewhat irreverent approach, these use whole tangerines, peel and all. The result is intense tangerine flavor, with a mellow sweetness and buttery overtones. Lime zest and juice temper the sweet tangerines, and add flavorful zing.

Since these citrus bars are loved by children and adults alike, they’re just the thing for holiday cookie making, or New Year’s festivities.
