When it comes to iced summer beverages there is nothing quite as refreshing as the coffee granita. It is quite simple to make and it is so convenient to wake up in the morning and scrape yourself a chilly cup of caffeine. Seriously, my husband has been scraping up our latest batch to take in his insulated cup to work. He loves it! As it begins to melt it is almost like drinking the perfect iced coffee. There is simply no better way to start the morning!
Easy Coffee Granita
2 cups fresh brewed coffee
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1. Stir together the coffee and sugar until the sugar is dissolved. Pour it into a shallow baking dish, cover with plastic wrap and allow it to freeze completely.
2. Once the coffee is completely frozen use fork tines to scrape it into a large cup and top with whipped cream.
