Even the best used car salesman would have failed trying to sell my California family on the creamy culinary pride of the South that is Grits. First came the questions:
What are grits? They are stone ground corn.
Are they gritty? No, they are creamy.
What do they taste like? They will taste like crusty top mac-n-cheese. I call them, Grits California.
Now when the barrage of dinner time questions come, they sound like, “Can we have Grits California again?”
