We all grew up loving Star Wars and my kids are getting old enough to want in on the action. I find sharing my childhood love of movies or games or anything cool one of the greatest treats of parenthood. You get to relive all the joy and excitement through the eyes of your own little people. I took it one step further and and for dessert we all made our own TIE fighters and Light Sabers and we had intergalactic battles. As you can see, my daughter sided with The Force and destroyed a TIE fighter with a single swipe of her light saber. This fun activity made that post dinner wildness/meltdown vanish faster than the Millennium Flacon can jump to lightspeed!
TIE Fighters & Light Sabers
1 package 100 calorie oreo’s
1/2 cup white chocolate chips
colored crystal sugar (my kids wanted green for the good guys)
place white chocolate chips into microwave and cook for 15 seconds on 50% power. Stir and cook again until melted and smooth. Spread the cookies onto a plate. Dip one end of the marshmallow into the melted chocolate and place into a cookie. Using a spoon dipped in the melted chocolate, swipe the other end of each marshmallow and top with another cookie. Allow to cool/dry for 10 minutes. Dip the pretzel sticks into melted chocolate and cover with sugar and place on wax paper. Cool for 10 minutes. Now have your showdown!
